Catina Renee Baker- McIntyre, 42, of Myrtle Beach passed away May 20, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her family. Catina was a mom, daughter, sister and devoted friend to many. She was born on September 6, 1972, to Norma Jean Massey and Roger Leon Baker. Catina spent her youth in Fuquay Varina, NC. She met the love of her life, Ray McIntyre, and moved to Myrtle Beach where she made a home for her family.
When diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014, she remained focused to beat her illness. Catina became a warrior, a role model and an inspiration to many. She encouraged and entertained others as they went through chemotherapy.
She leaves behind her son, William and her daughter, Callie; her mother Jean; her stepfather, Don; her father Roger; her stepmother Lucille; her brother Rodney and his wife Wendy; her former husband, Ray McIntyre; as well as uncles, aunts, cousins and nieces and nephews.
Catina requested to be cremated. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and a Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 pm at the Socastee United Methodist Church (Myrtle Beach) on Sunday, May 24, 2015. All are welcome – attire is relaxed (just as Catina would have liked). The family would especially like to thank the friends that have provided much support and Tidelands Hospice support staff.
Never miss a local story.
