William G. “Bill” Patterson, a resident of the Grove City area for the past 67 years passed away on Saturday morning, May 23, 2015, in Grove City Medical Center. He was 94.
Bill was born the 11th of 12 children in Stoneboro on July 10, 1920, to the late John and Rhoda Lean Patterson. He married Betty J. Maness on Sept. 27, 1946.
He retired in 1982 after 43 years of service with Cooper Energy Services, Grove City where he was a toolmaker. Bill was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Grove City.
He graduated from Stoneboro High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was instrumental in the establishment and development along with E. Victor Hughes of the Grove City Little League Program. He served as President of the Little League for 35 years and also participated as a coach for many years.

Bill also helped develop the Grove City Federal Credit Union and served on the board of directors for 25 years. He liked gardening and he enjoyed giving his homegrown vegetables to others. He was an avid hunter all of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Betty at home, 2 sons, Dennis E. Patterson and wife Betty, Knightdale, NC; and William Gerald Patterson and wife Belle, Richmond, VA; 3 grandchildren and 1 sister, Lena Redzinak, Greenville.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 8 sisters.

Visitation Hours: Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Bessemer Avenue, Grove City, PA on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and in the church of Wednesday from 10:00 till 10:45 AM.
Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery with military honors, Sandy Lake, PA.
