Fannie Ruth Coats, 84, slipped into the hands of the Lord on Monday, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Johnston County she was daughter to the late Leonard & Rossie Williams Barbour. Fannie Ruth was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister & friend. She loved nothing more than giving to people. She loved her family only second to the Lord. She was preceded in death by sisters, Beatrice Tucker & Linda Turner.
Fannie Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Wilbert Pinkney Coats, Sr., daughter, Merle Coats (Robert) of Raleigh, sons, Wilbert P. Coats, Jr (Jewell) of Holly Springs, Ricky Coats (Teresa) of Raleigh, Eddie Coats (Patricia) of Raleigh, grandchildren, Paula Pierce, Michael Norris, Jr., Candi Davis, Bert Coats, Jennifer Lewis, great grandchildren, Natalie Pierce, Alex Pierce, Ryder Coats, Chase Davis, Zander Lewis & Tripp Norris, siblings, Mason Barbour, Rosalie Stephenson, & Ruby Crabtree.
The family extends special thanks to the caregivers that provided loving care to Fannie Ruth in the past few years, Lisa Bennett, Tammy Mattewson, Sharlyn Thomas, Liana Youker, & Lachilyn Alexis.

Graveside service 11:00 a.m. Friday, White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1459 White Memorial Church Rd., in Willow Springs. All are welcomed to join us in celebration of her life. The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Coats residence, 4417 Auburn-Knightdale Rd., Raleigh.
