Robert N. Herr, 97, died peacefully Sunday afternoon. He was the son of Robert and Amy Herr, deceased.
Bob graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Journalism in June, 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy Reserve and was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Corpus Christi, Texas. When Pearl Harbor was bombed Dec. 7th, 1941, he was assigned duty in the South Pacific and was discharged honorably in January 1946. He was an advertising manager for several newspapers and in 1971, he became a sales representative for Multi-Ad Services and travelled in the southeastern states calling on newspapers. He retired in 1984 and has enjoyed 30 years of active retirement; transporting cancer patients to appointments, gardening, fishing and swimming.
Bob is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, David Herr of Norman, OK; son, Stephan Herr of Durham, NC; Brother Bill Herr of Banning, CA; granddaughter, Shelly May of Norman, OK.
An Open house celebrating Bob’s Life will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 2 - 4pm. A private service will held later. May he rest in peace and be remembered by friends.
