Lester V. Chalmers III passed away July 6, 2015. Born July 7, 1951 in Raleigh at Rex Hospital to Lester V. Chalmers Jr. and Alta B.Chalmers. Les started his medical career where he was born, working as an orderly in the Rex emergency room at the age of fifteen. He received his Nursing degree at the Watts School of Nursing, his B.S at George Mason University and his Masters in Nursing at the University of Maryland. His great love was Emergency nursing where he forged many lifelong friendships. He later was employed as Director of Medical Policy with Carefirst Blue Cross of Maryland. He resided in Baltimore.
Les is survived by his mother Alta B.Chalmers, his brother Tim Chalmers and wife Collins of Raleigh. He is survived by his spouse Chip Hatchell of Baltimore. He is also survived by his nephews Elliott Chalmers and Miles Chalmers.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Christ Episcopal Church in Raleigh at 11:00 am on Monday July, 13. The family will receive visitors following the church service.
