Virginia A. Cook, age 82, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Windsor Point of complications from Alzheimer's. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church, 301 N Woodrow Street, Fuquay-Varina. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26 at Thomas Funeral Home and also from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Virginia Ann was born in Danville, VA to Harry W. and Virginia O. Kroger. She was a graduate of George Washington High School, studied secretarial science at Averette College, and art at Strafford College.
After college, she went to work at First National Bank in Danville as a switch board operator and secretary. Latter, she went to work as secretary for the director of education for Dan River Mills.
The family moved to Fuquay-Varina in 1966 and she went to work as Church Secretary at Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church in 1984. She remained in the job for 20 years, serving 5 pastors, before retiring.

Virginia Ann was a very good artist, working with oils, pastels, charcoal and color pencils. She had a broad interest in her subjects, from landscapes, birds, flowers, portraits, and antiquities.
She and Don were married for 58 years. She delighted in her children. Her first born, Kendall Ann Tersiguel, who presently lives in France with husband, Remi` and two teenage boys, David Tersiguel age 17 and Luc Tersiguel age 16. Her second born, Matthew Cook, who lives in Kentucky with wife, Melanie and son, Andrew Cook, age 11 and daughter, Layne Cook, age 6.
Virginia is survived by her immediate family and a sister, Nancy Williams of Las Vegas, NA.
