Mrs. Carole Jean Williams Snow, “Willie”, age 78, passed away after courageously living with cancer, on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. Willie was born on December 10, 1936 to Albert and Jean Paisley Williams in Steubenville, Ohio and grew up in Toronto, Ohio, graduating from Toronto High School where she was in the service club, a cheerleader and on the Homecoming Court. She remained faithful to her alma mater and happily attended many reunions, keeping up with lifelong friends. After high school, her adventurous spirit led her and a group of friends to attend airline reservationist’s school in California. She lived and worked in the Washington, D. C. area after this, meeting and marrying her husband Steve who had begun his air traffic control career in Northern Virginia after serving in the U.S. Air Force. They raised their two sons in Springfield and Herndon, Virginia. Always a giving person, she was a devoted stay-at-home mother until she returned to her work as a travel agent when the boys were older. Upon Steve’s retirement, they relocated to Barboursville, Virginia where she continued to work in the travel field, making many more wonderful friends.
Willie is predeceased by her parents, her son Michael Snow, and her brother Scott Williams.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Stephen H. Snow, of Barboursville; her son Stephen T. Snow, daughter-in-law Kim White-Snow, grandsons Patrick, Will and Ben, all of Knightdale, NC. She is also survived by several loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss her sweet, fun- loving spirit. Her grandsons will miss watching and talking about football with her as she was a big fan of the sport.
On behalf of Willie, the family thanks everyone for the many cards and letters. Also to Hospice of the Piedmont (Mary, Rhonda and others too numerous to list) - an enormous thank you for the care you provided for Willie this last month.
Never miss a local story.
A Celebration of Willie’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers her family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
