Stanley Myles Wolfe, age 78, of Durham, North Carolina, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 25, 1937, in Joplin, Missouri. He was the son of the late Ira Nail Wolfe and the late Leila Brewer Wolfe.
Stan was a 6 year veteran of the US Navy. He served in VP 47 and VP 872. He served during Operation Dominic 1 and 2, and also during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He worked at Freiden Enterprises, later known as Neopost for 27 years as a computer engineer. He retired to Durham, North Carolina in 2002.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Hazel Wolfe; along with their three children; Craig Michael and Kristin Wolfe of Durham North Carolina, Leslie Miriam Wolfe Sullivan of Livermore, California, and Darrin Myles and Hilary Wolfe of San Jose, California; 11 grandchildren, Savannah Linduff, Jonathan Schadt, Cayla Wolfe, CJ Wolfe, Andrew Spitzer, Summer Muir, Hayley Schadt, MacKenzie Patterson, Rylan Sullivan, Jackson Wolfe, and Piper Wolfe; one great grandchild on the way Hudson Allen Linduff; seven siblings, Carolyn Cook of Bethalto, Illinois, the late Judy Erwin of Santa Cruz, California, Ed Wolfe of Carl Junction, Missouri, Jane Mitchell of Carl Junction, Missouri, Jim Wolfe of Joplin, Missouri, Sandy Wolfe of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Jeff Wolfe of Plano, Texas.
In the spirit of Stan’s love for his family and friends, a family gathering and drop in visitation will be held at the home of his son, Craig and Kristin Wolfe, 627 Red Cedar Circle, Durham, North Carolina, Saturday, August 1st at 2 PM.
