Timothy Eugene “Tim” Privette, a retired Sergeant with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office died August 2, 2015. Tim was a resident of Wendell. Tim loved his Lord, his family and friends and was known for his unselfish acts of kindness.
Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of the N.Y. Yankees and the Wolfpack. He was an active member of Samaria Baptist Church. Tim enjoyed time spent at his place in Minnesott Beach, NC and hunting with and cooking for members of the Walker’s Swamp Gun Club in Columbia, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gotha Allen Privette and Hallie Edwards Privette of Raleigh. Tim is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betsy Speight Privette; son, Tim Privette (Katie); daughter, Ashley Privette Rose; grandchildren: Mason, Hailey, Payton and Reagan. He leaves a large extended family including brother, Jimmy Privette of Zebulon, sisters: Bobbie Alford of Wendell and Kathy Moody of Raleigh.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Samaria Baptist Church, 3621 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC 27610. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale and other times at the home.
