Howard C. "Buddy" Dean, Jr., 70, passed away while surrounded by the attentive love and care of family, friends, and supported Signature Healthcare professionals in Chapel Hill, NC.
Born in Anderson, SC and raised in Raleigh, he graduated from Broughton High School in 1963 and earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Univ. of Tennessee in 1968. After a time in industrial engineering, Buddy became a well-known real estate appraiser and broker in central and eastern NC. He loved the N.C. coast and considered it his home, after retiring there in the early 2000s. Buddy returned to Raleigh in 2012 and received the unquestionable love and devoted care of long-time friends, such as Linda Barrow, Sandra Monds, and Lou Cunningham.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, Howard C. Dean, Sr., and Edna Bailes Dean. He is survived by his sister Beverly Peoples (Kerney), sons Tripp and David, daughter-in-law Sheryl, grandchildren Emma Rose and Braden.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Road, 27608. A visitation will follow immediately in the Fellowship Hall.
