Veteran Triangle real estate professional Grady Matthews has been named president of Raleigh-based commercial real estae company TradeMark Properites.
Matthews replaces Billie Redmond, who founded the company and has led it for the past 30 years.
Redmond will become chair of TradeMark’s board of directors. Instead of managing the day-day-operations of the company, she will focus on client development and strategic partnerships.
Redmond, who ran unsuccessfully for mayor of Raleigh in 2011, was recently named by Gov. Pat McCrory to the N.C. Education and Workforce Innovation Commission.
“It’s clear to us that Grady’s two decades of business success has been built on developing successful relationships through trust, commitment and integrity,” Redmond said in a statement. “He has closed high profile and large transactions with real estate partners both nationally and locally, and is eager to take our company to the next level.”
Matthews was most recently vice president of business development for VantageSouth Bank.
TradeMark also announced that Jim Harris will become president of TradeMark Affiliations, focusing on expanding the company’s services.
