Postings for information technology jobs across North Carolina inched 1.1 percent higher in August compared to July.
“The summer is coming to a close while labor demand for IT professional in North Carolina remained virtually unchanged,” states the latest jobs report from the N.C. Technology Association.
A total of 3,790 IT jobs were advertised in August. That’s slightly up from 3,750 in July but down from 3,970 a year ago.
North Carolina’s job market lagged the nationwide market for IT jobs, which rose 4.6 percent in August compared to July.
Although the IT job market in North Carolina declined in the fall of 2012 and 2013, the NCTA report projects that pattern will be broken this year.
“With the economy growing we expect the job market to do better this fall,” the report states.
The NCTA report is prepared by SkillPROOF, which focuses on job market data and research.
