Startup CloudFactory Group is expanding its Durham sales and marketing team after raising $3 million in funding from investors.
The Hong Kong-based company has more than half a dozen employees in Durham and plans to add 6 to 10 more workers to its local team in the next six months, said founder and CEO Mark Sears. Overall CloudFactory has 130 workers at four locations including Nepal, which is where Sears is based.
CloudFactory enables companies to outsource work such as data entry and transcribing audio to workers in developing countries through a combination of software that manages the projects plus 3,200 contract workers it has recruited.
CloudFactory, which has been in business for four years, previously raised $700,000 in seed funding.
