NCTA 21 Awards presented to Triangle companies

Giant Triangle companies such as Cree and SAS and up-and-comers such as Bandwidth and ChannelAdvisor were among the companies from across the state that took home honors in the annual NCTA 21 Awards sponsored by the N.C. Technology Association.

The awards, handed out Thursday night at an event at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Durham, focuses on excellence in technology and business.

This year’s winners:

Best Customer Service Company – Lenovo

Best Internal Implementation of Technology – ReCommunity

Best Product or Service Company – Bandwidth

Best Workplace Culture – WebAssign

Clean Technology Award – Cree

Corporate Impact Company – SAS

Emerging Company – Next Glass

Fast Growing Small Company – Appia

Fast Growing Large Company – Varrow

Healthcare and Life Sciences Company – TearScience

Industry Driven Company – Parata

Large Company – Accenture

Mid-Size Company – AvidXchange

Most Innovative Internet/New Media Company – Automated Insights

Most Innovative Small Company – Power Analytics

Most Innovative Large Company – Epic Games

Small Company – StepLeader

Software Company – ChannelAdvisor

Public Leadership – Representative Jason Saine

Tech Exec of the Year – Jud Bowman, chief executive officer, Appia

Outstanding Achievement – Frank Drendel, chairman of the board and founder, CommScope
