Gander Mountain plans to open a second Triangle store on Capital Boulevard in North Raleigh next year.

The company announced Monday that the store, to be located in the Triangle Plaza Shopping Center at 6101 Capital Blvd., will open in the spring. It will occupy a 50,700-square-foot space.

Gander Mountain, which sells hunting, fishing and camping gear as well as firearms, opened a 52,000-square-foot store in the Park West Village shopping center in Morrisville in the fall of 2012.

The Raleigh store will be the retailer’s eighth in North Carolina.

Outdoor retailers have been expanding aggressively in the Triangle over the past 18 months.

Cabela’s announced last month plans to open its first North Carolina store in Garner. Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World is also opening a store in Cary that will be less than four miles from Gander Mountain’s Morrisville store.
