October was another down month for postings for information technology jobs across North Carolina.
IT jobs postings fell 11 percent in October compared with September, the fourth consecutive month of declines, according to the latest report from the N.C. Technology Association.
The 3,320 jobs posted in October also were down 10.3 percent from a year ago.
The latest decline was a surprise, given that job markets traditionally enjoy a fall upswing, the report noted.
The decline also was across the board.
“All sectors contributed to the decline in October without any sector standing out,” the report states.
Nationwide, IT job openings fell 3.9 percent in October.
The NCTA report is prepared by SkillPROOF, which focuses on job market data and research.
