A New York manufacturing and engineering company is opening a facility in Iredell County that is expected to employ 38 people.

Weber Screwdriving Systems will invest more than $2.3 million in the plant in Mooresville, about 30 miles north of Charlotte. The facility will also be home to the company’s new U.S. headquarters.

Weber is eligible to receive a $40,000 grant from the One North Carolina fund. The grant requires a local match and the company must meet investment and job-creation milestones.

The average annual payroll for the jobs will be $82,897, plus benefits. The Iredell County average is $41,964.

Privately held Weber’s technology is used in the automotive, medical and manufacturing industries. The company specializes in engineering systems that feed and insall pins and screws, large bolts and fasteners in hard-to-reach locations.
