Spuntech Industries, an Israeli textile manufacturer, will expand its operations in Person County and create 60 jobs over the next three years.
The company plans to invest $35 million in its facility in Roxboro, about 60 miles north of Raleigh, Gov. Pat McCrory’s office announced Tuesday. Spuntech employs 94 people at the plant now.
Spuntech is eligible to receive a $235,000 grant from the One North Carolina fund. The grant requires a local match, and the company must meet investment and job-creation milestones.
The average annual salary for the new jobs is $43,010, plus benefits. The Person County average is $33,717.
Spuntech develops and manufacturers hydrotangled fabric products. The manufacturing process involves using high-speed jets of water to entangle fibers so that they knot around one another.
“We are very excited about the additional investment in the Roxboro site,” Gidi Krasny, CEO of Spuntech, said in a statement. “With the success of our last investment, we look forward to a bright future in the U.S. with our new expansion.”
