Quintiles, the world’s largest pharmaceutical services company, has unveiled a new mobile app for its free MediGuard medication monitoring service.
The Durham-based company announced Wednesday the availability of the MediGuard app, which can be set for hourly, daily or weekly reminders to take pills. It also contains, among other things, information about potential adverse side effects of drugs.
The free app is available at Apple’s iTunes App Store and the Google Play Store. It also can be downloaded at www.MediGuard.org.
About 2.6 million patients use Quintiles’ MediGuard service to keep track of their drug intake and obtain information about safety alerts, recalls and drug interactions. Patients also can access information about clinical research and disease management programs.
