Capstrat tops local ad awards again

Raleigh communications agency Capstrat once again carted home the most awards from the annual competition sponsored by the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Raleigh communications agency Capstrat once again carted home the most awards from the annual competition sponsored by the Raleigh-Durham chapter of the American Advertising Federation.

Capstrat won 27 awards this year, the third consecutive year it garnered more honors than any other agency. This year the awards, previously known as the Addy Awards, were renamed the American Advertising Awards.

Capstrat won one Best of Show, 8 gold AAAwards, 7 silvers and 11 bronzes.

Chapel Hill’s Immortology was the runner-up in total awards with 23 — 4 gold, 6 silver and 13 bronze.

The awards were handed out Feb. 7 at a gala at Raleigh’s Lincoln Theatre. Overall, more than 70 awards were chosen from more than 350 submissions, including about 60 student submissions, said Amanda Longo, co-president of the chapter.

Other agencies that received more than five awards were: Clean Design of Raleigh, 9 awards, including two Judges’ Choice and 3 gold; Myriad Media of Raleigh, 9 awards, including 4 gold; and Three Post, 7 awards, including 1 Judges’ Choice and 2 gold.
