Wells Fargo’s regional president for the Carolinas, Stan Kelly, is retiring this summer.
Kelly, 56, is a 34-year veteran of the bank. The territory he heads includes more than 450 Wells Fargo branches and more than 5,000 employees.
He joined Charlotte-based Wachovia, which six years ago was acquired by San Francisco-based Wells Fargo, as a personal banker. Past positions include Forsyth County executive in Winston-Salem, regional executive in Raleigh, head of consumer financial services and president of Wachovia Wealth Management.
Kelly is a past chair of the N.C. Chamber. He currently is a board member of the N.C. State University Foundation, the Piedmont Triad Partnership, Wake Forest Business School Board of Visitors, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Board of Visitors, N.C. Bankers Association, Old Salem Museum and Gardens, Winston Salem Alliance, and Winston Salem Foundation.
Kelly has offices in Winston-Salem and Charlotte. His successor hasn’t yet been chosen.
