IT job growth continues in North Carolina

The market for information technology jobs across North Carolina continued its recent upward trend as job postings rose 4.8 percent from April to May, according to the latest report from the N.C. Technology Association.

“As of now hiring of IT professionals in North Carolina remains strong,” the latest monthly report states.

Still, the 3,260 job openings posted last month was down 24 percent from a year ago.

Nationwide, the market for IT jobs rose 0.8 percent in May compared to April. The national IT job market has been on the rise since the outset of the year, reversing declines that occurred during the second half of 2013.
