Reliance Packaging, a maker of printed bags and rollstock, plans to relocate its manufacturing operation from Florida to Moore County and add 48 jobs over the next three years.
Gov. Pat McCrory’s office announced Tuesday that the company plans to invest $3.5 million in Aberdeen, about 70 miles southwest of Raleigh, where it now has 12 employees.
Reliance is eligible to receive a $52,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund if it meets job and investment goals. The grant requires a local match.
The average annual payroll for the new jobs is expected to exceed $1.5 million. That works out to an annual salary of $31,250 per employee. The Moore County average is $35,228.
Never miss a local story.
Reliance is part of the Sigma Plastics Group, which has its headquarters in Lyndhurst, N.J. It provides its products to a range of companies, including those in the lawn and garden market.
The new jobs in Aberdeen will include machine operators and maintenance technicians.
