Pharmaceutical services company Cenduit has added 43 employees this year, pushing total employment at the Research Triangle Park-based business past the 400 mark.
More hiring is in the works.
“We have 26 positions open right now,” said Lori Wilkinson, vice president of human resources. In addition to RTP, Cenduit is hiring workers for sites in Pennsylvania, India and Switzerland.
Increased sales have played a big part in the growth spurt, said Mike Ederle, senior vice president of finance. The company also has expanded its in-house research-and-development facilities and recently formed a new business intelligence division.
Cenduit’s technology automates clinical trial functions such as patient recruitment for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Cenduit is a joint venture between Durham-based Quintiles and Thermo Fisher Scientific, which makes scientific instruments and laboratory equipment.
Today Cenduit has about 60 employees in RTP after adding a dozen local workers so far this year. In addition, 10 of the company’s open positions are in RTP, Wilkinson said.
Cenduit was formed in 2007 with a total of about 150 workers – half from Massachusetts-based Thermo Fisher and half from Quintiles.
