The Triangle jobless rate ticked up slightly in October to 5 percent, equaling the national unemployment rate.
The seasonally adjusted jobless rate for the region rose one-tenth of a percentage point from 4.9 percent in September. The Triangle’s unemployment rate remains well below the state rate of 5.7 percent.
The region’s jobless rate was 4.8 percent 12 months ago.
Local jobs data was released Monday by the Labor and Economic Analysis Division of the state Commerce Department and seasonally adjusted by East Carolina University’s Bureau of Business Research.
