The Oxford, the gastropub that has been on downtown Raleigh’s Fayetteville Street since 2008, is closing January 24.
Eschelon Experiences, the Raleigh company that owns the restaurant, was not able to come to terms on a new lease, according to a news release announcing the closure.
Oxford was the third restaurant that Eschelon opened.
The company also owns Mura in North Hills; Cameron Bar and Grill and Faire in Cameron Village; Zinda, a nightlife and event space on Fayetteville Street; Basan, a sushi restaurant in Durham; and Raleigh’s Edwards Mill Grill.

A number of downtown Raleigh restaurants have either closed, or announced plans to close, in recent weeks.
They include Tir Na Nog, Tyler’s Taproom at Seaboard Station, Brewmasters, Battistellas and The Borough, which is scheduled to shut its doors at the end of the month.
