Biologics, a privately held oncology services company based in Cary, announced Thursday that it is being acquired by McKesson Specialty Health.
Biologics employs 375 full-time employees, including 365 in Cary.
Allison Keenan, the company’s director of marketing and communications, said in an email that the company doesn’t anticipate any staffing changes as a result of the acquisition.
“It will be business as usual – and our current outlook is healthy and strong,” she said.
Biologics is on track to hire 150 additional workers this year, Keenan said.
Terms of the acquisition weren’t disclosed.
In its announcement of the Biologics deal, McKesson said it is also acquiring Vantage Oncology. The company valued the two acquisitions at $1.2 billion. The deals are expected to close by the end of the first quarter of McKesson’s 2017 fiscal year.
Biologics manages treatment for patients with cancer and other complex diseases. Last year, the company expanded into a new 75,000-square-foot office building in the Weston area of Cary.
Biologics also recently retrofitted an existing 32,000 square-foot facility in Cary, and will expand into a third distribution facility on Weston Parkway next month.
