It didn’t take long for radio station MIX 101.5 to replace “The Gene and Julie Show.”
The Raleigh station, which is owned by Capitol Broadcasting, has announced that its new morning show, “Two Men and a Mom,” will debut later this week.
The two men are Kyle Smelser and Bryan Lord, who previously worked together on morning radio at WNOW-FM in Indianapolis.
The mom is Sarah King, who began in radio at North Carolina State University’s WKNC-FM. After several years working in the New York City restaurant scene and recently becoming a new mom, she’s returning to radio.
Never miss a local story.
The trio, whose show will air weekdays from 5:30 to 10 a.m., “bring a wealth of experiences, a new perspective, passion and creativity to the station,” program director Michele Williams said in a statement.
Last week WRAL announced without explanation that it had cut ties with married co-hosts Gene and Julie Gates, who began broadcasting on MIX in July 2014.
