It will cost you a little more to shop on Amazon.com this holiday season.
Just this week, the giant online retailer raised the minimum shoppers need to spend to qualify for free shipping.
Instead of $25, you must now spend $35 to take advantage of Amazon’s free “super saver” shipping.
In a notice on its site, Amazon said it was the first time in more than a decade that it has raised the free-shipping minimum.
For years, Amazon’s free shipping offer has been a big draw for bargain shoppers, myself included.
It will be interesting to see if more bricks-and-mortar stores will jump in with more generous ship-to-store options. Or if smaller online retailers will market themselves as a cheaper shipping option.
What do you think of Amazon’s new $35 limit? Will it limit your shopping on the site?
