Only a few seats remain in my upcoming holiday-themed coupon workshop and food drive.
The three-hour class, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9, will cover basic and advanced savings techniques, with additional tips and tricks on how to save on holiday expenses.
You'll learn how to save 50 percent -- or more -- on your weekly grocery bill in this fun and fast-paced class. On top of that, we'll feed you breakfast and send you home with some nice freebies thanks to our class sponsors: Harris Teeter, Attractions and McDonald’s.
The half-day session includes information on:
finding, organizing and using coupons for the items you already buy.
matching your coupons with the weekly grocery ads to maximize your savings.
tips on using digital coupons to your advantage.
tips on how to shop for healthy foods using coupons.
the ins and outs of Triangle-area grocery and drugstore policies and rebate programs.
meal planning and other frugal-living tips.
tips on how to save on holiday foods, gifts and stocking stuffers.
The workshop is at The N&O's downtown Raleigh offices at 215 S. McDowell St. Registration is $15 and open to the public. Most folks easily recoup the cost of the class after one shopping trip.
The fee includes free parking, a free breakfast, a detailed class handout, recipes, worksheets and a reusable grocery bag filled with freebies.
I'll also do a drawing for prizes, which include grocery gift cards, movie passes, cookbooks and more.
Bring a donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and get a second chance to win. Dress for the holidays and get a third chance to win.
Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and class starts promptly at 9.
