If you’re searching for ways to lower your grocery bill, you might want to consider signing up for one of my half-day coupon workshops.

Registration is now open for my next coupon class, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 14.

The three-hour class will cover basic and advanced methods to strategically use coupons.

You'll learn how to save 50 percent -- or more -- on your weekly grocery bill in this fun and fast-paced class. On top of that, we'll feed you breakfast and send you home with some nice freebies.

The half-day session includes information on:

*finding, organizing and using coupons for the items you already buy.

*matching your coupons with the weekly grocery ads to maximize your savings.

*tips on using digital coupons to your advantage.

*tips on how to shop for healthy foods using coupons.

*the ins and outs of Triangle-area grocery and drugstore policies and rebate programs.

*meal planning and other frugal-living tips.

*tips on how to make money while grocery shopping.

The workshop is at The N&O's downtown Raleigh offices at 215 S. McDowell St. Registration is $15 and open to the public. Most folks easily recoup the cost of the class after one shopping trip.

The fee includes free parking, a free breakfast, a detailed class handout, recipes, worksheets and a reusable grocery bag filled with freebies.

I'll also do a drawing for prizes, which include grocery gift cards, movie passes, cookbooks and more.

Bring a donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and get a second chance to win.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and class starts promptly at 9.
