For six Friday nights this summer, the 400 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh will turn into an outdoor movie theater.
And admission is free.
The movie screenings -- plus live music beforehand -- are scheduled for Friday nights, starting this Friday, May 23.
The PNC Downtown Raleigh Movie Series will run through June 27.
Never miss a local story.
The movies will start at dusk but each event starts at 5 p.m. with live music. Food trucks will also be available.
The May 23 movie is “Dirty Dancing.” Other titles scheduled include “Talledega Nights,” “Hunger Games,” “Last of the Mohicans” and “Iron Man 3.”
According to the Downtown Raleigh Alliance Facebook page, a limited number of chairs will be available courtesy of one of the event sponsors, Red Hat.
If you want a guaranteed seat, bring their own lawn chairs.
Sounds like a great way to spend a summer evening without spending a lot of money.
