Women small-business owners are invited to a free event Tuesday intended to help them navigate and tap into federal contracting opportunities.

The U.S. Small Business Administration, Women Impacting Public Policy and American Express OPEN are presenting a joint initiative dubbed ChallengeHER from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at N.C. State University.

The event is designed to bring more women-owned firms into the federal government’s supply chain and to connect qualified owners with related agencies.
