Supporters of Allison Quets, the Florida woman charged with kidnapping the twins she put up for adoption, are fighting a court ruling that denied her custody of the children.A panel of three Florida judges last month agreed with a lower court's ruling that Kevin and Denise Needham of Apex should retain custody of 2-year-old twins Holly and Tyler.Quets had filed suit to gain custody of the twins shortly after she signed papers allowing the Needhams to adopt them. She has claimed that a severe illness influenced her decision.Rebecca Creed, one of the lawyers who represented Quets in the custody case, said she has asked the panel to reconsider its decision, send it to a full panel of district judges or explain the ruling, which did not include a written opinion. In the meantime, Quets' supporters are rallying. E-mail messages went out nationwide this weekend with a petition asking the court to grant Quets' request.Quets, 49, of Orlando, Fla., faces federal kidnapping charges for fleeing with the twins to Ontario, Canada, in December.
