RALEIGH - A teenage boy was fatally shot Thursday night at the corner of Milburnie Road and Booker Drive near an apartment community.

Police released few details Thursday night. Officers said the victim was shot about 8 p.m. and died 30 minutes later at WakeMed.

The victim's name was being withheld until relatives were notified, according to a news release from the Raleigh Police Department.

No arrests have been made, and police have not named any suspects.

Police responded to a shooting call near Washington Terrace apartments and found the victim lying on the grass. Investigators combed the outskirts of the apartments while onlookers lined the sidewalks near the cordoned-off crime scene.

A pair of jeans and another article of the man's clothing lay on a walkway leading to one of the apartments near where the body was found. Police guarded the apartment.

Washington Terrace, made up of townhouse-style rentals, is near St. Augustine's College. Residents there were tight-lipped about the shooting, saying they knew little.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Raleigh police at 890-3555 or CrimeStoppers at 226-2746.
