RALEIGH -- Police have charged a man with murder in the fatal shooting of a teenager who was found lying on the grass near Washington Terrace apartments in Southeast Raleigh on Thursday night.

James Tony Lee, 18, was shot about 8 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Milburnie Road and Booker Drive, police said. Officers arrested Edward Lee Harris, 31, this morning and charged him with murder. Harris also was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police found Lee lying on the grass when they responded to a shooting call.

Washington Terrace, made up of townhouse-style rentals, is near St. Augustine's College. Residents there were tight-lipped about the shooting Thursday night, saying they knew little.

Crime scene tape remained at the scene this morning.
