KNIGHTDALE -- State troopers say a man was driving drunk when he hit two bicyclists Monday evening.

The two riders were taken to the hospital but were stable Monday night, said Trooper R. Lupton.

Jeffrey Price, 50, of Wendell, was charged with DWI, driving with a revoked license and failure to reduce speed. Price's license was revoked for a previous DWI offense, Lupton said, and the Dodge pickup he was driving Monday has been seized.

Both Price and the cyclists were traveling south on Rolesville Road near Todd Road, Lupton said. The accident occurred about 6:55 p.m., when it was still light, but Price told authorities he didn't see the cyclists, the trooper said.
