WINSTON-SALEM - A 40-year-old pastor has been sentenced to 100 years in prison after a jury convicted him of sex crimes involving two teenage boys who say he abused them over a two-year period.

During Friday's sentencing, Judge Stuart Albright admonished Rodney Keith Boothe for using his church to gain the trust of the boys. Albright said that in one case, Boothe was in the role of parent to a boy who had no one else.

The Winston-Salem Journal reported that Boothe and both teenagers were members of Greater Church of Deliverance when the assaults occurred from 2005 to 2007.

The younger boy said he was 13 and 14 when the sex acts happened. The older boy testified that sex acts against him began when he was 15 and stopped when he was 17.
