CARY - Three men are suspected of using a pellet rifle to shoot out car windows and damage car doors in a spate of vandalism incidents in Cary, police said today.

Cody Campbell, 20, of 1326 Takeaway Place, Morrisville, Justin Fenske, 21, of 5321 Creekridge Lane, Raleigh, and Daniel Harvey, 20, of 303 W. Johnson St., Cary, were arrested Monday.

They are charged with vandalism and discharging a firearm within the city limits, according to a news release issued by town officials. Campbell also was charged with resisting an officer.

Police said the three are linked to 13 vandalism episodes, including one on Sunday, in the area near Kildaire Farm Road and Cary Parkway. The arrests may help clear cases affecting up to 20 victims, police said.

On Sunday, witnesses saw the three shooting at an unoccupied vehicle at 119 Climbing Ivy Court, according to the news release. Based on the witnesses' description, police found the three in a gray SUV at McDonald's at Kildaire Farm Road and High Meadow Drive.

Police said they also found a pellet rifle and spotlight in the SUV.
