Jose Antonio Estrada Carrillo, 29, was identified by fingerprints and an acquaintance late Thursday afternoon, the Orange Sheriff's Department said. His last known address was 500 Jefferson St., Kernersville, but he had not been seen there for the past four months.

A passerby noticed the body Sunday afternoon in the undergrowth of an embankment off the road. It appeared the body had been there a few days, investigators said.

A medical examiner found that he had died from a single gunshot to the head.
