RALEIGH -- A Millbrook High School student charged with stabbing a classmate last month turned himself in today, a Raleigh police spokesman said.

Tamarius Deonte Dickerson, 17, is accused of stabbing classmate Dominique Thomas, 18, in a Sept. 15 fight outside their classroom. Thomas was stabbed several times with a knife, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said last month.

Both students left campus after a teacher intervened, a Wake schools spokesman said the day of the incident, and Thomas drove himself to WakeMed Raleigh Campus, where officers responded.

Shortly after the attack, police took out a warrant charging Dickerson with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.
