RALEIGH -- Police searched the home of a Raleigh teen in connection with a string of armed robberies, according to a court affidavit made public today.

Gerald Lee Jones, 18, of 2608 Rumba Court was charged by Raleigh police Monday with one count each of robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a felon, according to documents filed at the City County Bureau of identification.

Police have accused Jones of being one of three men who robbed Moe's Southwest Grill in Cameron Village on Sunday night, according to a search warrant filed today at the Wake County Clerk of Courts Office. Police identified all three suspects and have arrested one other person in addition to Jones, court records show.

Investigators noted that the physical description of the suspects who robbed Moe's and the weapon used were similar to armed robberies that occurred on Aug. 11 at the Wingate Inn on Westinghouse Blvd., Aug. 14 at the Holiday Inn on New Bern Ave. and Aug. 27 at a Crown Gas Station on Hillsborough Street, court records show.

Police searched Jones' home after his arrest and recovered two Remington .12 gauge shotgun shells, court records show. He remains in the Wake County jail in lieu of $352,500, a jail spokesman said today.
