Man charged with sex offenses

closeCARY -- Police say a man's attempt to defend his son against claims that he raped his ex-girlfriend has gotten the father in trouble.
Dwayne Anthony Frazier, 41, was charged Wednesday with two counts of felony sex offenses after he showed a videotape of his son and a teenage girl involved in a consensual sexual act, Cary police Capt. Michael Williams said today.
Police say Frazier showed the videotape to a school administrator and an acquaintance on Tuesday, about a week after his son's ex-girlfriend called police and told them the son had raped her.

"He should have showed the tape to the police," Williams said.
Williams said Frazier's son has not been charged, and the case is still under investigation.
Investigators charged Frazier, of 522 Siltstone Place in Cary, with one count each of second- and third-degree exploitation of a minor, according to the City County Bureau of Identification. Police took Frazier to the Wake County jail where he was released late Wednesday night after posting $25,000 bail, a jail spokeswoman said today.
