RALEIGH -- USA Today published a full-page advertisement today about the unsolved murder of a young, pregnant woman who was killed this month as she delivered copies of the newspaper to a Raleigh convenience store.
The ad, bordered in gray, includes a photo of Jennifer Kathleen Nielson, whose body was discovered June 14 at the AmeriKing at Lake Wheeler Road and Centennial Boulevard. Nielsen, 22, delivered USA Today as well as the weekly Garner News.
Police have said little about the progress of their investigation.
They have released a sketch of a man wanted for questioning in Nielsen's death. That sketch, along with a description of the man — 5-foot, three inches; 17-20 years old; long black hair in a ponytail — appears in the ad. Police have not said whether the man is a suspect in the killing.
Police have asked anyone with information about the man to call them at 227-6220.
Nielsen lived in Fuquay-Varina with her husband, Tim, and two sons, ages 11 months and 3.
The ad also highlights a fund set up for her family: The Nielsen family fund, First Flight Credit Union, 1156 North Main St., Fuquay-Varina, 27526.
The family also has a Web site: justice4jenna.org
