Durham police are seeking three men -- including two who are awaiting trial on a murder charge -- on charges of shooting at people in the parking lot of a convenience store Nov. 17.

The three are accused of pulling up to the Caroco convenience store at 702 North Alston Ave. about 11:30 p.m. and firing numerous shots. No one was injured, though bullets struck a vehicle in which two people were sitting, broke three store windows and damaged a beer cooler.

Investigators have charged Dezmond Ramario Williams, 22, of Anne Road in Hillsborough, Michael Anthony Hudson Jr., 21, of Gillette Avenue and Michael Raymond Kelly, 20, of East Cornwallis Road with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and other felonies in connection with the shooting.

Williams and Hudson are out on bond awaiting trial on a 2005 murder charge. They were among five men charged in the Dec. 14, 2005, shooting death of Michael Bailey, 22, on Keystone Place.

Williams and Kelly were arrested earlier this year in connection with two other shooting incidents.

They were charged with shooting a 14-year-old boy March 23 at the Town Deli on Lawson Street. The boy was walking to his mother's car when he was struck by bullets apparently intended for two other people standing near a car, police said.

Williams and Kelly also were arrested on charges stemming from a March 7 shooting on Lynn Road near Hursey Street. The victims told officers they were driving on Lynn Road when a male occupant of a silver 1996 Volvo fired out of the sunroof at their vehicle. No one was injured.

Officers found the Volvo wrecked on Grant Street near Pettigrew Street a short time later.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Williams, Kelly or Hudson is asked to call Investigator A.M. Cristaldi at 560-4281, ext. 240, or CrimeStoppers at 683-1200. CrimeStoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases. Callers do not have to identify themselves.
