Investigators are trying to determine what caused a fire that critically injured three men early Sunday at a house in Coats.
The three men were identified as Dale Beasley, 40, who lives at the home where the fire occurred at 1605 Old Stage Road, and Robert Stewart, 24, and Christopher Tart, 33, both of Dunn.
All three were taken Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem where they were in critical condition, according to a news release issued this morning by Harnett County Sheriff Larry Rolling.
The fire was reported at 12:25 a.m. Sunday. Emergency workers found Beasley at a neighbor's residence, according to the news release. Stewart and Tart were found at the fire scene.
The rear half of the residence was extensively damaged, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office, the Harnett County Fire Marshal's Office and the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating.
