DURHAM - A 20-year-old man out on bail after being charged with murder was arrested Tuesday morning in an assault case.

When officers responded to a stolen vehicle call at the Kangaroo Mart at 2503 N.C. 55 at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, they were told a man pointed a gun at two people and made threats to them during an argument, police said.

Officers found Eric Tyrell Miller in the store bathroom and found a gun in the bathroom trash can. Miller was charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun. He remained at the Durham County jail Tuesday with his bail set at $503,000.

Miller was one of three people arrested and charged with murder in connection with the slaying of Kordero Odom on Rosedale Avenue last year. He has agreed to testify in the case and plead guilty to being an accessory to murder, according to court records.

That agreement made him eligible for a reduced bail, and he was released from jail on March 24.
