DURHAM — Durham school officials hired two new principals Monday, naming Tonya M. Williams to head Eno Valley Elementary School and Gregory McKnight as principal of Merrick-Moore Elementary School.

Williams comes to Durham after serving as the assistant principal of Dillard Drive Middle School in Wake County since 2005, according to a news release. Before that she taught for four years in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.

McKnight has served as assistant principal at Bethesda Elementary School for the past two years, and has also worked at the Durham School of the Arts and Lowe's Grove and Rogers-Herr middle schools. He has worked in the Durham schools for more than 10 years.

The preceding principals at both Eno Valley and Merrick-Moore schools each left their positions for principal jobs at other Durham schools.
