Shodor, a Durham nonprofit organization helping to improve math and science education nationwide, will hold a series of six Project SUCCEED Saturday Explorations workshops beginning on October 18.

These workshops encourage students in grades six through eight to investigate the world around them through hands-on and interactive computer simulations in scientific modeling, graphic design and Web design. No previous experience is required - only an interest in math and science.

These scientific computing workshops will be based at Shodor's research offices in the Durham Centre, with field trips to labs on the campus of N.C. Central University. Workshops run from October 18 through November 22.

Full and partial financial assistance is available. For information, visit www.shodor.org/calendar or call (919) 530-1911.
