BENSON -- Johnston County Schools officials are investigating claims that a West Johnston High School teacher exposed herself to her students.

Marilyn Bulifant, who teaches exceptional children at the school in Benson, is accused of exposing herself Tuesday to students in her classroom.

According to her classroom Web site, Bulifant is in her first year at the high school, but previously taught in Raleigh for seven years.

Johnston County Schools spokeswoman Crystal Roberts said the human resources department is investigating the claims.

Roberts said Bulifant has been placed on paid suspension pending completion of the investigation.
